Its richness adds an important element of completeness – almost like the background in an oil painting. Imagine my drawings on white paper and I think you can agree that they just wouldn’t be as interesting. How did I come to use this particular paper? While developing my artwork after I retired I found a forgotten piece of yellow parchment-like paper buried in the bottom drawer of my flat files. I’d bought the paper some 10 – 15 years prior at a small art store that was… - [Hemp Products](https://thequietearth.co/elementor-8167/): Hemp Products: A Natural Choice for Everyday Living Hemp has quickly become one of the most talked-about natural materials in wellness, fashion, food, beauty, and sustainable living. Although hemp comes from the cannabis plant family, industrial hemp is different from marijuana because it contains very low levels of THC, the compound responsible for psychoactive effects. Instead, hemp is valued for its strength, versatility, nutrition, and eco-friendly potential. What Are Hemp Products? Hemp products are items made from the seeds, fibers, stalks, or extracts of the hemp plant. These products can be used in many industries, including food, skincare, textiles, construction, and… - [Lokta Paper: A Sustainable Craft from the Himalayas](https://thequietearth.co/lokta-paper-a-sustainable-craft-from-the-himalayas/): Lokta is a traditional handmade paper crafted from the bark of the Daphne plant, which grows naturally in the Himalayan regions of Nepal. Known for its strength, durability, and eco-friendly nature, Lokta paper has been used for centuries to create religious texts, official documents, and artistic crafts. The harvesting process is sustainable—the plant regenerates after cutting, allowing communities to produce paper without harming the environment. Its natural fibers give it a unique texture, making each sheet slightly different and full of character. Today, Lokta paper is widely used in handmade products such as notebooks, lampshades, gift wraps, and decorative items. Its… - [What is Felt? A Natural Material with a Rich History](https://thequietearth.co/what-is-felt-a-natural-material-with-a-rich-history/): Felt is one of the oldest known textiles, created by matting and pressing natural fibers—most commonly wool—using heat, moisture, and pressure. Unlike woven fabrics, felt is made without knitting or weaving, which gives it a dense, soft, and durable texture. Traditionally sourced from sheep’s wool, felt is biodegradable, renewable, and eco-friendly, making it a popular choice for sustainable and handmade products. Its natural insulating and flexible qualities have made it useful for everything from clothing and shelter to decorative crafts and toys. The history of felt dates back thousands of years, with origins linked to ancient civilizations across Central Asia and… - [Why Felt Toys Are Better Than Plastic Toys](https://thequietearth.co/why-felt-toys-are-better-than-plastic-toys/): In a world filled with bright, mass-produced plastic toys, many parents are beginning to look for more meaningful, safe, and sustainable alternatives. Felt toys—soft, handmade, and rooted in natural materials—offer a refreshing return to simplicity and mindful play. Felt toys offer a safer, more natural alternative to plastic toys, especially for young children. Unlike plastic, which can contain harmful chemicals, felt toys are often made from natural wool and non-toxic dyes, making them gentle and safe for everyday play. Their soft texture reduces the risk of injury, while their lightweight design makes them easy for little hands to hold and explore.… ## Pages - [Terms and Conditions](https://thequietearth.co/terms-and-conditions/): Terms & Conditions Last updated: September 26, 2026 These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of thequietearth.co and any purchase from The Quiet Earth, a registered trade name of Prime Goods Shoppe LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
